THE ARAB SPRING AND ITS CONSEQUENCES

 Was held on Thursday November 15th 6:30 to 9:00pm Jubilee room NSW Parliament House Macquarie Street Sydney. Speakers included :-

Tom Switzer – Spectator Magazine

Editor of the Spectator Australia, a research associate at the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney, a former Senior Adviser to the federal Opposition Leader, Opinion Editor of The Australian, an editorial writer at the Australian Financial Review and an Assistant Editor at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C. and a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal, The Spectator and Quadrant magazine. He has a Masters in International Relations at Sydney University.

Rev Fayek Iskander – Presbyterian Minister with expertise in Islamic Studies

Fayek Iskander was born in Egypt where he was a Presbyterian minister for 14 years. He came with his family to Australia in 1992. Currentlly a minister of the Presbyterian Church of Australia, doing mission work. Fayek’s area of expertise is in Islamic studies with deep knowledge of the Arabic language.

Shaoquett Moselmane MLC was born in Konin, a village in southern Lebanon has been is a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council since 2009, representing the Australian Labor Party.

 This forum was well attended and Western Heritage appreciated the lively audience participation.
